How to Cook Glutinous Rice
Step One: Always Soak First

- For boiling: soak at least 30 minutes
- Use cold or room temperature water, then drain well before cooking
Method 1: Steaming (Best Results)
- Soak overnight. Drain well.
- Line a steamer basket with a damp muslin cloth. Spread rice in a layer no deeper than 5 cm.
- Steam over boiling water for 20 to 25 minutes. At the halfway point, flip the rice so the bottom layer moves to the top.
- The rice is ready when fully translucent, sticky, and tender with no chalky centre.
Method 2: Boiling
- Soak for at least 30 minutes. Drain.
